Descripció i   Metodologia:   This course is designed to provide teachers with the background they need to support science with literacy (science talk, science reading and science writing) in order to deepen student understanding of science concepts as well as enhance literacy skills.
Through a variety of instructional techniques (face-to-face learning, readings, video analysis, handson exploration, online learning), teachers will become familiar with the ways that science talk, reading, writing, and technology can support science. They will delve into the research behind how students learn and how literacy can enhance science for all students. In addition, participants will examine how to use science inquiry and apply science & engineering practices. Teachers will demonstrate their understanding by creating lessons/experiences based on what they learn to use in their classrooms. Throughout the course, teachers will be required to reflect on their learning and how it can be applied to their practice.
The online module of the course will be implemented via Schoology. In addition, all of the course materials will be posted on Schoology, which will also be used by participants to collaborate and communicate with each other.
